Responsible Gaming
A. Our commitment
Burnaby Casino is meant for entertainment, and the time and money you spend here are yours to choose.
Every game in our lobby, from Popular slots to Live Casino tables and Jackpots, is designed as paid entertainment. We offer clear tools to help you stay in control, monitor for signs of harmful play and take action when they appear. We only open accounts in places where local law allows online gaming, and we follow Canadian rules on age verification, identity checks and anti-money laundering.
Our trained team looks for warning signs such as sudden jumps in deposits, repeatedly cancelled withdrawals or unusually long sessions. When we spot this kind of pattern, we email you helpful tools and may restrict your account. While a self-exclusion or cooling-off break is active, Promotions, VIP invitations and Burnaby Rewards offers are paused.
B. Tools you control
You will find every tool in the Responsible Gaming area of your account, and most can be set in seconds.
Limits on deposits, wagers and stakes
A deposit limit sets the most you can add each day, week or month. With a wager limit, you cap your total betting across a time frame you pick. A stake limit sets the maximum for any single bet, so each spin or hand stays within your plan. When you hit a limit, further deposits or bets are blocked until the next period begins. All three can be used together.
Reality checks and session alerts
Pick an interval and a pop-up will appear while you play, showing how long your session has lasted and your net result. You can then keep playing, stop for the day or go directly to your limits. Session alerts work the same way on slots, table games and Live Casino.
Cooling-off break
A break blocks your account for 24 hours up to 6 weeks, depending on your choice. While it runs, you cannot deposit or bet, and we send no marketing. A break cannot be shortened once it starts. Your balance remains safe, and pending withdrawals are still paid.
Self-exclusion and closing your account
If a cooling-off break is not enough, self-exclusion offers a longer and stricter pause. Email mail@burnabycasino.app to request it. We block your access, remove you from all mailing lists and take steps to stop anyone opening a new account with your details. A self-exclusion cannot be shortened once it starts. To leave Burnaby Casino for any other reason, see our Account Terms for how to close your account.
Self-assessment quiz
A brief, confidential questionnaire to help you check your gaming habits. See Section D for how it works.
Identity and location checked before the first deposit
You can deposit once we have confirmed your identity and checked that you are connecting from a location where our games are allowed. These steps keep minors and players outside permitted areas from playing. Our Verification and AML page lists the documents we may request.
C. When limit changes apply
Lower a limit and it applies straight away. Raise or remove one and it takes 24 hours.
Lower limits take effect right away: a reduced deposit, wager or stake limit is active the moment it is saved. Increases or removals need 24 hours, and your previous lower limit stays active in the meantime. If you change your mind within those 24 hours, cancel the request in your account and nothing changes.
The waiting period exists to prevent impulsive decisions taken mid-session. It applies to every player, including VIP members, and our team cannot cut it short.
D. Self-assessment
Our quiz is short and offers a frank picture of how you play.
You will find the self-assessment quiz in the Responsible Gaming area. It asks simple yes or no questions, for example:
- Do you spend more money or play for longer than you intended?
- Do you keep playing to try to recover your losses?
- Have you sold belongings or borrowed money to pay for play?
- Do you hide your gaming from family or friends?
- Do you feel restless or irritable when you try to cut back on gambling?
We keep your answers private and never use them for marketing. At the end, you get a short result with suggestions, such as setting limits, contacting a support organisation listed below or taking a cooling-off break. If several answers suggest a risk, we recommend taking action the same day.
E. Protecting minors
Only adults 19 and older can register, deposit or play.
Age and identity are verified ahead of a first deposit, and accounts opened by anyone under 19 are closed. We aim our marketing at adults only. Parents and carers can help with parental controls, filtering software and locked devices. Do not leave a casino session open where a young person can access it. See our 19+ Policy page for more detail on these steps.
F. Free, confidential support
Free, confidential support is available from independent organisations, both for players and for the people close to them.
Burnaby Casino has no connection to these services, and they are available to you whether or not you have an account with us:
- 211 Alberta
- Alberta Health Services Addiction Helpline
- Gamblers Anonymous
- BetGuard
Talking to someone early makes a difference. Friends and relatives affected by another person's gaming can also contact these organisations for advice.
G. Contact
Our support team handles responsible gaming requests by email, in confidence.
Contact mail@burnabycasino.app about limits, cooling-off breaks, self-exclusion or any concern about your play, as well as account questions or anything else. Write from the email registered to your account for a faster reply. Requests to restrict play are always handled first.
